Bret is a full time police officer for a large Missouri
State law enforcement agency, and Captain in the Missouri Army National Guard. He has over 10 years of military experience
and has held various positions ranging from Platoon Leader to Company Commander to Battalion Operations Officer. Bret has
attended numerous trainings throughout his career in the military and law enforcement. He is a U.S. Army certified trainer
of counter IED tactics, and certified in antiterrorism operations by the Department of Defense. Bret is also a certified physical
security inspector. Bret is a five year sniper veteran of his agency’s SWAT Team. He has instructed and participated
in various transportation safety and security related functions. Bret is a senior consultant for Gray Ram Tactical,
LLC and governmental agencies in the area of physical security assessments, antiterrorism issues, and threat/risk analysis.
Bret's focus of instruction includes issues concerning personal safety and security. Bret is the creator of many awareness
courses for school teachers, administrators, and bus drivers. He has also created numerous military and law enforcement training
courses. Bret has earned a Minor in Military Science, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, and is currently completing
a Master of Arts Degree in National Security Studies, with a concentration in Terrorism. He has been published in many magazines
and academic journals to include: School Bus Fleet, American School and University, The Counter-Terrorism Magazine, and The
Police Journal. Bret has also been the guest speaker at various conferences, has been invited to be a guest speaker at a prestigious
European schools conference, and will present a paper in the upcoming Homeland Security: Global and Domestic Perspectives
Conference in March 2010.
